The Captain

you took a rendezvous well that’s something
you took a ride on the moon when you fell apart
I’m not picking up the pieces
open up my chest there’s no bleeding heart
just a goodbye note

it says:
“so you’ve decided to see the captain of your life, but no one’s in control”

look around you the world keeps moving
and she’s invited the moon to move along
but I still miss the sunlight
open up my skull you’ll never read my mind
it’s all rhythms and rhymes

so you’ve decided to see the captain of your life, but no one’s in control
and yet life goes on
(long after the thrill is gone)
