Roses

Rose is our red, violence our blue; the world’s always changing, so why shouldn’t you?

Solar-Powered

your sacramental aneurysm of thought
rots your mind and poisons your life
and every game you play hides you from the biggest game of all
the life you’re losing every day
the game that everyone must play

and when the winter sun melts your icy heart
part of you knows that you must face the pain
for every time you close it out your dreams drift further away
the life you’re losing every day
you’re standing in your own way

the sun will rise every day
and in its shine we can play
like solar-powered children
and overcome our villains

we don’t need a reason to live
we’re alive
let’s face the world together
all of us together

The Gravity of Love

here we are in the presence of the sun
breaking our backs
here we are in the shadow of the moon
born to relax

here we are drawn to our mother Earth
for love of gravity
here we are crying to the blank-eyed sky
the gravity of love

wake me when it’s over
I don’t want to see your face anymore

here we are shining with the rays of hope
lust in our eyes
here we are beaming with each other’s pride
lust in our eyes

here we are fighting to believe in love
lost in the lies
here we are crying to the blue blue sky
the gravity of love

wake me when it’s over
I don’t want to see your face anymore
break me one last time
on your way out the door
take me one last time
the gravity of love
