City Lights

warm nights and faded streets
only coming down long enough to sleep
drink to the beauty
and drink to the fame
and drink to your health
drank it all away

another sad song for the suburbanites
another precious malady
the city lights spin around and round
every day I lose a little more ground
maybe the rain can wash my sins away
maybe tomorrow I can change my wicked ways
